Report Writing CourseProducing easy to read structured and comprehensive reports
The Report Writing Course is designed for staff who regularly write long and more complex reports and who would like to improve their report writig skills.
The main focus of the course is on how to present complex text in a way that is easy to grasp. It takes writers through the different stages of the writing process and shows writers how to present text in a logicalway. It then narrows the focus to address writing at the paragraph and sentence levels. All topics are followed by practical exercises, group work, comments, feedback and an opportunity to apply the acquired skills to participants’ own text.

- Writing effective introductions, executive summaries and conclusions:

Approach
Prior to the course, participants have the opportunity to submit reports to the consultant, who provides detailed feedback in the course on all aspects of the report. Participants can use the comments to enhance their own drafting skills by re-organising and redrafting the relevant parts of their reports.
Following the course, participants can submit reports to the consultant, who provides electronic feedback. This will enable participants to list areas where the principles of good writing were applied and to identify and enhance areas where they still need to improve.
Course Duration
We usually run this course as a one or two day programme.
