Main Focus
The main focus of this tailormade course is on:
Optimising the subject line, context, purpose, structure and outcome in emails and getting the tone right .
Participants are given a selection of hands-on exercises to practice on. The selection is based on the requirements of the group. It usually follows the following structure:
- Exercise posing a specific problem/s
- Participants get the opportunity to improve the text
- Group discussion on challenges
- Sharing information by showing some important changes made by individual participants
In the final exercise participants get the opportunity to work on their own submitted text.
Approach
The Course is interactive and provides participants with ample opportunity to practice their email writing skills on their own emails. To enable this, we encourage participants to submit examples of emails that we can use during the course to practice on. We also provide detailed feedback in the course on all aspects of the emails. Participants can use the comments to enhance their own drafting skills by re-organising and redrafting the relevant parts of their emails.
Following the course, participants can submit emails to CFC. We gladly assist with electronic feedback to ensure that our training has a lasting impact. This will enable participants to list areas where the principles of good writing were applied and to identify and enhance areas where they still need to improve.
Course Duration
We usually run this course as a one day course.
